5km Fun Walk
A fun walk, open to anyone and everyone. A safe secure route for children, prams, dogs on leashes, disabled or pensioners, the fit or the unfit!
8km Walk
We expect up to 20 000 walkers to support this Walk – and enjoy – open to all, corporates, clubs, families and friends, an event for the entire community.

Talk Radio 702 and Discovery provides free live entertainment on the day including popular personalities, singers and bands.

Medals
Commemorative medals will be awarded to all finishers in all the distances finishing within the specified time.

History of the race

The first event took place in 2000 with 12 000 entrants. In 2004, 25 000 walkers took to the streets of Joburg over the four distances. In 2006 with a revamped and restructured Discovery 702 Walk the Talk we had 30 000 walkers, and in 2007 40 000 participants took part in the event. 2008/9 saw a record 50 000 participants making the Walk the largest in Africa!
