Discovery Vitality Points:
Vitality members can earn 3 000 Vitality points for participating in the 5km or 8km walks and
5 000 Vitality points for participating in the 15km or 30 km walks. Maximum fitness points limits apply.
For a full set of the terms and conditions on Vitality points you can earn, visit www.discovery.co.za and click on Discovery Vitality. By participating in the various tests at a Discovery Wellness Day, if you are a Vitality member, you can earn up to 26 000 Vitality points.
You can earn points for the following screenings. Discovery will allocate Vitality points within 30 days after the event.

To comply with Central Gauteng Athletics standards, there will be a water point approximately every 3km on all routes. Water points will be stocked with Coca-cola / Powerade and water.
Medals: All finishers will receive a commemorative medal on completion of the route within the specified time limit for the distance.
Cut-off times are as follows: 30km – 5 hours; 15km – 3 hours.
The 5km and 8km do not have time limits.

PARK N RIDE
There is a Park n Ride service that is available.
The cost of the bus ride is
R50.00 per person – return.
There are five pick up points:
• The Coca-Cola Dome, Northgate
• Rosebank Gautrain Station, Rosebank
• Sandton Gautrain Station, Sandton
• Bezuidenhout Valley Park, Bruma Lake
• Nasrec Expo Centre, Southgate
Booking for the Park n Ride tickets are available when entering the event. Your ticket for the Park n Ride is only guaranteed once payment has been done.
The first bus departs at 05h30 – be aware that there may be traffic to the venue and you should allow travel time to the venue. The first bus departs at 10h00 back to the zone. The buses will depart every 30 minutes between or when the bus is full.
The bus departure points will be clearly marked. Please return to the same place where the bus dropped you off, once the event is over, in order to complete the return journey. Ensure you have the correct coloured armband for the correct bus. The armband will be provided in your race pack. If you do not have the correct band, you will not be allowed on the bus.
Marks Park Sports Club
For the seventh year running, the renowned Marks Park Sports Club will be the home of the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk.
The club will once again make their well-maintained facilities available to over 50 000 walkers who participate in this prestigious event. Marks Park Sports Club was founded on the 19th December 1938 under the chairmanship of the then Town Clerk of Johannesburg, Mr. I. Marks with some 1 200 members.
Activities at the club commenced at headquarters being Patterson Park, with various sections being spread all over the city. It was only in 1951 that the club moved to its present premises, with the existing main clubhouse being a farmhouse, which was owned by the Geldenhuys family.

Royal Canin are the sponsors of the Dog Walk and will be providing support on the route in the form of water points and veterinary assistance, if required. Royal Canin will also have great give-aways and prizes for each dog that completes the race.
Before entering your dog, please note that:
• Small to medium dogs must be older than a year old and younger than ten years old
• Large to giant dogs must be older than one-and-a-half years old and younger than seven years old
• Dogs must be medically fit to walk
• Dogs must be lead trained
• Dogs must be social with other dogs and people
• Dogs must be able to handle the stress of large crowds and strange noises
• No dogs are allowed on the Park n Ride buses
• Dogs are only permitted on the 5km and 8km walk
All dogs are participate for FREE.
