The 702 Walk the Talk event is for the fun and entertainment of all participants.

Important Information & Terms and Conditions

Entires
Entries are open from 23 June 2023 up to 11th August 2023 or until the event maximum capacity has been reached Online entries only, with no option to pay later. Methods of payment allowed are: Credit Card, Debit Card or direct EFT – these are all accessible from the online entry system. Primedia Broadcasting or 702 shall not be liable for any transactional costs or bank fees.

Cost of entry
3km is R180 and the 5km & 8km is R350 including a T-Shirt.

This year walkers can opt for the 3km walk for persons with disabilities, guardians with their children under the age of twelve, at an entry fee of R180.

No person under 18 years of age may participate in this event without written consent from their guardian. By entering participants should ensure they have consent from parents/guardians.

Minors
Persons signing this entry form as guardian of a minor hereby consent to such minor being bound by the aforementioned parties to the extent. If any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his/her rights as stipulated above.

Cancellation and refunds
Registration for the 702 Walk the Talk is binding and entry fees are non-refundable.

All entry fees include 15% VAT.

Medals
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal on completion of the walk.

Water Points
There will be ample hydration every 2,5 - 3km intervals on all routes.

Medical assistance
There will be medical response team at the venue to respond to all medical emergencies.

Third Parties
If you are entering for any person other than yourself (“third party”) then by accepting these terms and conditions, you warrant that you are duly authorised by the third party to accept the terms and conditions on such third party’s behalf and you indemnify the organisers and their representatives harmless against all claims.

All entrants participate at their own risk and will not hold Primedia, Peak Timing (Pty) Ltd, any partners, or their duly authorised representatives responsible for any loss or injury of any nature save for loss or injury resulting from gross negligence.

Data and payment security
Peak Timing (Pty) Ltd collects and stores all personal and payment data that are processed in systems secured with SSL/TSL-encrypted communication and by submitting an online entry, the participant consents to the processing of personal data.

Cookies

We use cookies that recognise you as a user in case you should, at a later date wish to register for another event on the entry platform. Waiver & Indemnity

Waiver: Participants take part entirely at their own risk and agree that they shall have no claim whatsoever against the Primedia Broadcasting and Peak Timing (Pty) Ltd, any individual, the sponsors, in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever which participants may suffer arising from any injury to their person or loss or damage to their property as a result of, or arising out of, whether directly or indirectly, or other function thereof, however such loss or damage may arise, save for damage or loss arising from gross negligence on the part of Primedia Broadcasting, Peak Timing or their duly authorised representatives. Persons signing this entry form as guardian of persons under the age of 16 hereby consent to such person being bound by the aforegoing waiver and further indemnify the organisers and parties to the extent, of any, to which such persons is not capable of waiving his/her rights as stipulated above. Persons taking part in the 702 Walk the Talk and whose entries were made on their behalf are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions by virtue of their participation in the 702 Walk the Talk.

Indemnity: The participant agrees to abide by the rules of the 702 Walk the Talk, which include the payment of the entry fee and confirms that she/he has read them, and understands that she/he takes part in the 702 Walk the Talk at his/her own risk and indemnifies Primedia Broadcasting, Peak Timing (Pty) Ltd and any sponsors against any claim which may result from his/her participation. The participant further understands that it is his/her responsibility to be medically fit to take part in the 702 Walk the Talk. In entering the 702 Walk the Talk, the participant understands that the Primedia Broadcasting and Peak Timing (Pty) Ltd will take photographs of the event including participants to the event and he/she consents to such photographs being taken at the event and being used for promotional and publicity purposes at the Organising Committee’s sole discretion. The participant further understands and accepts that the photographs are and will remain the property of the sponsors and/or organisers. I acknowledge that my entry will be rejected if any fields on this entry form are not fully completed.

Privacy: The personal information which is collected from you and processed by Primedia Proprietary Limited and/or its race organiser is done solely with your consent and in accordance with the Primedia Privacy Notice, available at www.primedia.co.za. The personal information which you provide to us in completing the online entry form will be processed purely for purposes of facilitating the online entry and may also be used for marketing purposes. We will not share your personal information further unless Primedia Pty Ltd so requires in terms of law or in terms of a legitimate business purpose.

Subscriptions and/or Opt-in’s: All entrants to this event (paid /unpaid) will receive event related newsletters and/or marketing mail or sms communications. Please note that in the event that you have selected to unsubscribe and/or opt-out of receiving any newsletters and/or marketing mail or sms you will still receive communication regarding logistics relating to the event you have entered.
